Essential Question:  The Dakota people’s way of life has greatly changed in the last 200 years. Why were the seasonal activities important for the Dakota people long ago?

Imagine a world where there are no stores.  How would your family provide the things you need like clothing, shelter or food?

Possible Answers:
A)  There were no stores. Dakota people had to hunt, garden and gather, and store their own food.
B)  The Dakota people made all the things they needed from nature’s gifts.
